Hard to believe it is already May. I completely missed that yesterday was "May the 4th Be With You" day. Today is Cinco de Mayo, so happy holiday if you are of Mexican heritage. Mother's Day is this weekend (I have no idea what to get my mother).

Storm season has been brutal in Oklahoma this year. I have family in Enid (they are fine). There were tornadoes just west of us Sunday night. We were up late waiting to see if the tornado warning was going to cross the county line. No point going to bed if you have to make a run for the storm shelter just as you get to sleep. More rain/storms are in the forecast for today. Hopefully those will be mainly just rain, not strong storms.
The storms put a hitch in my stitching time last week. I still got a lot done, but didn't complete all of my to dos from last week.
This is my first to do list for April. My last to do list was back at the end of March, just before we left for vacation. With vacation prep, I just didn't have time to get to much that was on the list before we left, but I did make some progress after we got home.
To Do List for 3/24/26
1. SAHRR: Finish quilt top - progress
2. Magnificent Mystery: Finish blocks, start quilt assembly - progress
3. Chilhowie: Piece backing, start quilt prep- no progress
4. Wild and Goosey: Continue working on blue blocks ✔

read moreHard to believe there is just a little over a week left in March. It's been a good month for me on the productivity front. Even with my allergies and my back issues, I've been doing pretty well at getting my to do lists mostly checked off.

Three for three is a good week. I didn't get as far with the SAHRR as I would have liked. Hopefully it ...
read moreMarch started with three quilts that needed to be finished tops before the end of the month. Those three have been my priority since January and have been on my to do list every week. I made good progress on at least one of those last week.
There's a lot going on in my sewing room this week (and next week and the week after). All the quilt alongs have ended and I need to have finished quilt tops for the quilt parades. So my priority will change for this week's list. Before I get to that, here's how last week's list went.
Hard to believe we've already started on the third month of 2026. We'll be one quarter through the year by the end of the month. Not to scare anyone, but wow, it's been going by fast. February was a pretty good month, I didn't check all the items off my to do lists each week, but I got close. The last week of the month was consistent with the previous 3.
February will end and March will start between now and the next week's to do list. This month is such a short one, I always feel behind at the end. Looking back over February's to do lists, it was actually a really good month.

read moreHard to believe that February is already more than half over. I need to get busy on a few projects if I'm going to stay on track with my goals for the year. My weekly to do list helps to keep me on track, most weeks anyway. I didn't do too badly last week.

read moreI didn't make it to the computer yesterday, so my to do list didn't get posted. We've had a lot going on at our household. My Guy was involuntarily retired last week as part of company cost cutting efforts. So my schedule is just a bit messed up as we've had to deal with getting a few things figured out and set up. Thankfully, I've still had time to get some sanity time in my sewing room and get a bit done on last week's to do list.
Winter hasn't completely relented, but we at least got a bit of a warm up yesterday. I'll take highs in the 50's after a week of highs just above freezing. The cold weather has been really good at driving me into my sewing room. One certainly doesn't want to be out and about much in those temps. More sewing time was definitely a good thing for making progress on last week's to do list.
It's definitely winter here. Our low has been -1 F for the last couple of days. We won't warm up much, barely above freezing most days. Definitely good days to just stay home and stitch. I mostly did that last week, so my to do list got a lot of attention.

read moreIt's been bitterly cold this week. It's great sewing weather, but not so great for much of anything else. It certainly kept me in the sewing room. That made last week's to do list look a little short.

read moreIt always seems so quiet after the first of the year. My Guy went back to work yesterday, so I was home alone for the first time in a little over 2 weeks. I got used to having someone home, so yesterday seemed especially quiet. I'll get used to it, but it just adds to that let down feeling that happens to me after the bustle and fun of the holiday are over.
My sewing time was a bit sparse before the weekend, but I tried to make up for it on Sunday. Here's how I fared with ...
read moreHard to believe this is the last To Do List for 2025 and the first for 2026. I haven't really given a lot of thought to what my sewing room goals are for 2026. Once upon a time (like a couple of years ago), I had a strategy for my To Do Lists. When I was doing that, my impression is that I got a lot more done. Maybe that's just wishful thinking. But I'll revisit that approach while I'm deciding on next year's goals. Before moving on to this week's list, how many ...
read moreI'm in the coasting portion of the Christmas holiday. The shopping is done, the presents wrapped, groceries bought (mostly). Now I can hang out with family and just chill out. There won't be any sewing room time between now and Christmas, but I'll have lots of time next weekend to decompress from the holiday with my machine. Before getting to my probably bigger than realistic plans for next week, here is how this week went.
To Do List for 12/16/2025
1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt the kitty trivets ✔
2. 2026 Guild BOM: Start February block ...
read moreWith the holiday just around the corner, it's not been as easy to find time to stitch. Then to top it off, my foot pedal for my machine is acting up. It mostly works, then suddenly it will stop. I fiddle with it and it starts back up. I have found a replacement, but as we have Christmas plans, I didn't want to order it right now. Hopefully I can limp along till January.
My sewing time this week was cut a bit short by holiday prep and a trip to see my mother. Consequently, my to do ...
read moreIt's been a busy week. I've made some progress on Christmas preparations, but still have a bit to do on that front. It's definitely meant less time in the sewing room. Consequently, there hasn't been much progress on my to do list from last week.
